Important Note

Clinicians must provide a clinical history indicating why they are requesting a Pathology Clinical Consult, the ICD-10 code, and an accompanying CBCD order. 

Smears must be prepared within 12-hours of specimen collection.

Pathology Clinical Consult

Order: PCC

A pathologist will review a Wright's Stained smear and report their findings. Ordering providers must included a reason for review and the ICD-10 code. This request is subject to part B professional billing.

 

Specimen Information

 

Obtain specimen using standard phlebotomy techniques.

No special patient preparation is necessary.
