The Laboratory of Northwestern Medical Center is a full-service lab accredited by the College af American Pathologists.

Our Laboratory professionals help your physician understand what is going on inside your body. When your doctor writes an order for Lab testing, you can choose to have it done here at NMC. We work collaboratively with the University of Vermont Medical Center and Mayo Medical Reference Laboratories to provide access to high quality specialized testing.

Hours of Laboratory Operation

Outpatient Phlebotomy hours of operation are:

Monday-Friday 06:00 am to 5:00 pm.

We are closed on weekends and all major holidays except by special prior arrangement.

Pre-Registration for Bloodwork

Patients of the NMC Lab preregister and reserve a time slot for lab work. Here’s how this process works:

• To pre-register, call 802-524-1070 on weekdays between the hours of 8 am to 4:30 pm, and choose option #1 to speak with a scheduling representative.
• Any changes in wait times will be communicated via text messaging.
• Please arrive at the Medical Office Building approximately 10 minutes prior to your reserved time.
• Remember, appointments are required, we are not able to accommodate walk-ins at this time.

Requests for STAT testing will be honored for assays that are included on the STAT Testing List. To request any test that is not on the STAT Testing list, the requesting Provider must consult the Pathologist or another member of the Consultation Support Staff.
