Obtain vaginal secretions using a cotton swab. Place the swab in a red top vacutainer containing 0.5 - 1.0 mL of sterile saline.
*Deliver to the laboratory immediately.

- Specimens received >1 hour after collection
- Dry swab received
- Specimen unlabeled or mislabeled
