Instrumentation / Method
Ortho Vitros XT 7600 / Multi-Point Rate
Test Schedule / Analytical Time / Test Priority
Daily / Same Day / Available STAT
Reference Range
Male and Female:
120 - 246 U/L
LDH activity can be decreased in samples that have been refrigerated or frozen.
Refrigerated samples will NOT be rejected.
Note that serum and heparin plasma specimens produce similar LDH results on Vitros systems. Some other methods, however, have shownsubstantial differences between the two sample types due to the contamination by platelets in plasma separated by low-speed centrifugation. The Vitros system is insensitive to LDH contained within intact platelets; therefore, LDH results in comparative methods may not agree with the system results for heparin plasma specimens.
