Test Code CDIFFICILE Clostridium difficile, Molecular (Not Orderable)

Important Note

This is a REFLEX test only and not orderable. 

This test is used by the laboratory to resolve discordant screening results. It detects toxin B gene and may presumptively identify hypervirulent O27/NAP1/B1 strains of toxigenic Clostridium difficile using automated real-time PCR. Detection of the toxin gene does NOT confirm active toxin production and may represent colonization.
