Reference Range
| NT-proBNPII Result (pg/mL) | Age Group (years) | Interpretation |
| <300 | All | Negative |
| ≥300 to <450 | 22 - <55 | Indeterminate |

| ≥1800 | ≥75 |
Reference ranges apply to patients presenting to the ED setting with acute or worsening dyspnea. For patients in an outpatient setting the test has a very low positive predictive value. In an outpatient setting consider any result <125 pg/mL as negative. For results ≥125 pg/mL, correlation with at least one sign, symptom, or risk factor can be used to identify patients that will need further cardiac investigation.
