Important Note

This test is not intended to be used for treatment monitoring of known positive patients.

Babesia species detected (not differentiated) in this assay include Babesia microti, Babesia duncani, Babesia divergens, Babesia sp. strain MO-1, and Babesia sp. strain EU-1. Detection of any of these Babesia species is reported as "Babesia species detected." without differentiation.

If postive for Babesia species, reflex testing for a Parasite Exam for percent parasitemia calculation will be performed.
